MONTEGO BAY!
We recently returned from a quick getaway to Montego Bay, Jamaica. It was a much needed break from the stresses of work and a nice opportunity to relax in the warm temperatures before we fully embrace winter here in Michigan.
Jamaica has never been a top destination on our travel list, but after a positive experience with a particular resort brand in Puerto Vallarta, we decided to try another one of their all-inclusive locations. The resort and destination did not disappoint us.
Accommodation: Hyatt Ziva Rose Hall
Adventures: Adventures were limited to the resort's pool and jerk barbecue shack. We needed a restful vacation this time.
Takeaways: 1) The airport workers are exceptionally helpful. 2) The resorts in Montego Bay are close to the airport. 3) People drive on the left-hand side of the road. 4) The sun is deceiving. 5) We need to reapply sunscreen every two hours. 6) The food is spicy here.
Memorable Moments: 1) Ordering unlimited caipirissimas. 2) Eating sorbet in the evening while listening to the waves hit the beach. 3) Watching the chef chop the jerk chicken.

Foodstuff: Our Jamaican food experience was limited to fish, jerk chicken, jerk pork, Festival bread, rice and peas, and Red Stripe beer. Also, one of us couldn't get enough scotch bonnet sauce.
Recommendations: 1) Ignore the weather forecasts that say it's raining all week. 2) Consider upgrading your room for a better view if you plan to spend some time in it. 3) Pack sunblock and an antacid. 4) Bring cash in small denominations for tipping. The USD is accepted here.
